Together Again for the First Time
Actually, many of the people there were way under fifty!
On Saturday, October 11 more than fifty fun-loving Allenspark community fun-lovers enjoyed the pot-luck-luscious food, the great music by the Swamp Koolers, the dancing, the silent auction of great art from local artists, and the name brain-storming (for the new name for the former Eastin Gallery)!
Now we all have an answer for that perennial question…What do you people DO up there in Allenspark?
May the goodness grow and grow.

The Frill Is Gone
As the photo shows, recent changes are visible at the former Eastin gallery.
The purchase of the building and land by the Allenspark Community Cultures Council was completed on October 2. Thanks are extended to the more than 150 participants who donated dollars to this community treasure. Together, in the true spirit of community cooperation, we’ve accomplished our first big objective!
We had a couple of good work days this weekend, during which a number of generous volunteers pitched in with enthusiasm. The white trim with hearts and icicles has come down, and is being replaced with new trim made of donated log siding. Most of the new trim is already up.
Ernie the Elk is now back on his pedestal — at least until the winter comes. Inside, the temporary rough wood counters have been removed, as have the odd-looking yellow panels (the wooden structural posts under the panels are still in place). The windows throughout the first floor have been washed, the floors have been vacuumed, scrubbed, and waxed, and the whole main floor has been dusted. Our community place now looks much more open, clean, and welcoming.
